His bias against Han Li probably had influenced him in walking away. the group could have brainstormed a little more, but as the 3rd senior disciple said, rules are created by people and people can be flexible, also he ignored the suggestion that the emperor himself might have become a puppet which in any case makes the rules a non issue. there masters I'm pretty sure from what I've seen in the donghua so far. seems like they are just best friends and have been for ages. I don't see any romantic feelings or tension between them.

I don't see any kind of awkward vibe between them. they get along like best friends and talk so casual and with each other. he even said he would help her find her daughter sounds like a protective friend. than she pretty much says no it's all good you need to focus on the war. cuz if our stronghold goes down before reinforcements arrive the whole land will be screwed and taken over by the evil clan.

A few points I will clarify here. The 'Hehuan Powder' mentioned in this episode when Wang Chan and his lackey visited the Demonic Sect Nascent Soul Elder Ancestor is indeed a form of aphrodisiac.

This is probably hard to tell because Cultivators usually don't waste their time messing with mortals, but you need specially made aphrodisiac on female Cultivators since all Cultivators are at varying levels of Super Saiyan in their base forms.
